Fort Greene Flea

On Saturday, Chris and I took a trip to Brooklyn to check out the Brooklyn Flea in Fort Greene. We had been to the Williamsburg location a couple of years ago,  are big fans of the Philly outpost, and I was really curious to see what the original Brooklyn Flea location was like.

We had a fantastic day! The weather was gorgeous and the vendors were great—they had a delightful selection of vintage finds and handmade specialties.

These three photos (one above and two below) are from Old Good Things, an amazing architectural salvage company that I first encountered a few years ago at the Clover Market. They had a huge space here, filled with reclaimed tin mirrors and wall hangings. I am so excited to finally share pictures of their work with you!

We had to take some time for a bite to eat. This is the first market that I have been to where I've actually had a chance to eat! These spicy tuna tacos from Takumi Taco were divine.

Some more scenes...

The Fort Greene Flea is held each Saturday through November. You can find more information, a list of vendors, and directions here. Happy marketing!

Doughnut Vault

Last weekend, I met up with my friend, Tiffany, in Chicago where we caught up, ate, walked around, saw some friends and ate some more. It was literally like a food tour of Chicago – we went from place to place picking up delicious bites and while en route to a must-get churro, we stumbled upon Doughnut Vault.

It was love at first sight for me. A charming doorway, pretty painted graphics and a teeny space that just felt special.

The interior was maybe 10' x 4'. Just enough space to wait in line and appreciate the little details inside.

Then you head outside

with your delicious doughnut in hand.

Yum!

John W. Golden

I first discovered John W. Golden's work a couple of years ago through The Land of Nod. His "By Order of the Management" series  is a favorite of mine.

Although this collection is meant for children, I can't help but love it and I finally ordered this print for myself.

I think it is perfect for my office!

I also ordered this print. Love this little guy.

I would like to add these prints to my collection one day in the future.

You can check out all of John W. Golden's work on Etsy and The Land of Nod.

Fizzy Friday

Why not start your weekend off sparkly with one of these champagne cocktails?

I'll take one Bellini please...

Isn't this graphic great? You can see more design work by the artist here.

Seeing Silver

For a while now, I've been taken with gold. I love the warmth and the shimmer it brings to a room. But seeing this silver leaf media cabinet, I'm reminded of just how nice silver is, too.

This little table is another example. With a marble top and silver leaf base, this works on its own or can be grouped together to make a larger table.

These diamond cut nesting bowls caught my eye, too. So pretty.

So where are you on the topic of gold vs silver? My vote is for both – and used together as Dwell Studio did so nicely here.

Lauren Conrad's Ruffles

Lauren Conrad (yes, I've been a fan of her's since Laguna Beach!) is expanding her line at Kohl's with the introduction of a new bedding collection.

Here is the Ella set, full of ruffled-goodness. I am such a huge fan of ruffles that of course, I love this.

I really like this Chloe set, too, with all of the ruching and rosettes.

Aren't the details so Anthro-inspired?

So far, LC's bedding collection is only available here online and I can't wait to see this ruffle-goodness in person.

Rosy Glow

Last week, we had one of the most beautiful evenings. It was one of those nights when the sky turns pink right before the sun sets and it makes everything look like it has a rosy glow.

The pink cast makes something basic like stonework look so beautiful.

Wishing you a day filled with some pink and prettiness.
