Le Chandelier

If you are a regular Pink Chalkboard reader, you know that we are a bit smitten with light fixtures. That's why I fell in love with these images from a beautiful little tea room in London called Le Chandelier. The name says it all! Gorgeous antique chandeliers fill the space by creating a cozy, elegant atmosphere. The decor, consisting of eclectic furniture pieces, accent mirrors, and tones of pink and blue, is a wonderful compliment to the lighting scheme, and makes the space feel inviting and romantic. Just the type of place I would love to settle into for a delightful cup of tea.

Ceiling Medallions

While walking through Bloomingdales a few weeks ago, I spotted this -- ceiling medallions as wall art!

Isn't that a clever idea? I had been eyeing the ceiling medallions at Lowe's a few years back when I was looking at light fixtures. Old school, plaster medallions are super heavy but the ones at Lowes are a very light plastic. They would be perfect for a project like this!

Here the medallions are backed with shiny silver paper but I would like to see them with mirrors or photographs inside. And while the white color looks great as is, these could easily be spray painted a different color (or metallic) for a completely different look.

When it comes to hanging these, consider layering a few of them as they did here for added interest. Mindy has written about the beauty of layering frames. The same thing applies here!

Clover Market May 2012

It's Clover Market season again! Yesterday was the second sale of the season and oh, my, was it fantastic! This market is better than ever—featuring over 100 vendors, a great variety of items for every style, and delicious food. It's been amazing to watch this little market grow into such a successful event. 

One of my favorite new finds is Made By Liddy. I am kind of obsessing over their gorgeous paper flowers and wreathes made out of repurposed book pages (pictured below). At the Market, the paper roses were attached to sycamore branches and grouped together in large blue-tinted ball jars. They looked absolutely amazing! I can't wait to get my own arrangement at the next Market. 

In the meantime, you can check out all of Made By Liddy's handmade paper products at their shop. Be sure to mark your calendars for the next Clover Market on June 3rd.

A Garland of Vases

I saw this really clever garland of vases while shopping at Terrain the other day. It is created by stringing together a series of bud vases, and looks beautiful hanging in a window, or outside against a wall. I love the options for delicate little flower arrangements, too. What a simple and pretty idea.

Gorgeous styling. Incredible photographs. The images below are a collaboration between designer Monique Keegan, owner of Enjoy Co., and photographer John Urbano, for Aerie. Together, they have created a fantasy land in which I would happily live. These vintage scenes offer vibrant pops of color, abundant texture, pretty florals, and a touch of typography. Perfection!
