Pretty as a picture (a picture frame, that is)

For a few years now, I have been enamored with picture frame wallpaper.  It's not just that it is good-looking, but I think it's the creativity of it and the way that you can personalize it that really got me hooked.  So much so, that when we moved into our house last year, I knew right away that I wanted this wallpaper for our powder room.

We have it on 2 walls in the powder room and it's amazing.  We haven't personalized the "frames" on ours yet, but in the future, we plan on using this area to highlight photos of friends and also to create a Mustache Wall of Fame.  Yes, I said Mustache Wall of Fame.  My husband is obsessed with mustaches and wants to honor some of the greats -- Tom Selleck, Burt Reynolds, Geraldo, etc.

When all of that is done, I'll definitely post some photos. Mustaches aside, though, picture frame wallpaper is a great way to add a bit of whimsy to a space. Here are some other examples:

Found this in my files from a while back, not sure who makes this.  Graham & Brown perhaps?

Walls and Fabrics

And then just today, I came across this one from The Land of Nod.  Talk about sparking creativity in children!

I'm not so sure that I'm brave enough to allow my son to take a marker, pen, or glue stick to his walls (out of fear that he will think that he can do this on all of the walls in the house).  But, nevertheless, it is fantastic.

  1. I finally figured out how to post a comment. I LOVE this wallpaper (the one for kids). I definitely have to remember this for when we finally move. What a wonderful idea for a playroom...but I totally understand your hesitation. Maybe once the kids are old enough to understand you can ONLY write on this wall! :)
