Big Size Kid Size

Two items that I've recently had my eye on -- a wall organizer and a garden chair -- now have a kid size alternative. A smaller scale and punchy color sometimes make for an even more fabulous product!

Aren't they fun? I'm especially fond of the wall organizers. They both hold a lot but the kid size organizer is I think a little more versatile than the original since it's smaller size can fit in more places. It can hold office and art supplies over a desk or corral small toys in a playroom or even be used as bathroom storage. Can you think of a better way to store your cotton balls, q-tips, toothbrushes and combs?

Sleeping in White

A friend of ours is redecorating his bedroom in an all-white, minimalist scheme. There is something about white that feels so relaxing, clean, and pure, which makes the idea of a bedroom designed in shades of white, with few accessories (and no clutter!), so alluring. The images below capture that feeling, and are tempting me to redecorate.

I just have to mention how much I love the pendant light in the photo above. Isn't it amazing? You can find it here.

The rug's texture in the photo above adds so much depth to this space and pulls the white scheme together. Below, I love the stained floors and the white canvas above the bed is such a great, simple touch.

In the next three images, little pops of color manage to make the white in these rooms look even whiter and brighter.

Another Use for that Old Frame

Frames (and creative ideas of what to do with them) seem to be popping up everywhere lately. I recently posted about this clever way to "frame" photos, invitations and art.

And then a few days later, I saw this in HGTV magazine.

It's a DIY project that can be personalized for any decor style. Not hard to do but between painting the frame, adding patterned paper and attaching handles it takes a little time.

Want the tray look but don't have the time? Try this.

With no handles, it's just the frame...and just as great.

Why not judge these books by their covers?

I must confess...I judge books by their covers. I used to love browsing the shelves and tables at my local Borders, taking in the design of each cover to determine what I would read next. It's certainly not the "right" thing to do but, hey, it's a guilty pleasure.

And let's face it, great book covers are essential when styling your bookshelves. So, take a look at these beauties from Juniper Books. They create custom book jackets to fit any style decor, which is an easy way to add some excitement to your shelves or elevate the look of any room. Simply brilliant!

Of course, I am a big fan of these typographic options.

These are a beautiful way to showcase all of the shades in your favorite hue.

I love this illustration. Wouldn't these spines really stand out in a room?

And this set of covers has a fun sense of humor.

Here are some photos of Juniper Books in place. Aren't they gorgeous? So dramatic!

Pillow Pairings

I'm a big fan of this sofa. Clean lines, sleek and sophisticated, and in a pretty midnight blue. It's the kind of couch that can be dressed up or down to fit any style home or any color palette.

Here are a few ideas:

Which do you like the best? I'm really drawn to that chevron pattern but then again that hello pillow just makes me smile.

Art on an Angle

The third floor of my home has angled ceilings. I always assumed that I wouldn't be hanging any art on those walls but then I saw this:

I love how light and airy the space feels. It is white, bright, decorated and finished-looking with that framed art. The angled artwork adds interest without being distracting. My favorite part of this, though, is the way the glass on the frames helps bounce the light around the room. So pretty.

You're Awesome

Yesterday, I spotted this gorgeous card from Sugar Paper over on Creature Comforts. Isn't the gold foil stamping amazing? And how incredible is this envelope liner? I would love to receive this card in the mail...and the sentiment is oh-so-perfect.

I ended up spending lots of time over on Sugar Paper's website, pouring over all of their work (they even sell art prints!). The greeting cards in the Friendship section are what really got me though, and here is what is in my shopping cart (in addition to the card above):

I can't wait to send these cards to my favorite people. Who doesn't want to receive a big "yay" in the mail? So cheery. Take a look at all of the design-goodness in Sugar Paper's shop here.
