One morning while checking my email, I noticed a message in my inbox from Soap.com. Soap.com? I had never heard of the company and was about to press delete when I spotted this logo and paused.
Hmmm, I thought. It's actually kind of cute. I like the color palette, the type selections are nice, and the little drop within the "A" is just my kind of detail. So I clicked on the link and discovered that Soap.com is part of a family of online stores owned by the e-commerce company, Quidsi.
And you know what? I realized that I liked all of their brands' logos.
Beauty Bar looks sophisticated; Diapers.com is friendly and helpful; Casa.com has an industrial-chic vibe to it; and most of all I love the playfulness of Wag.com and YoYo.com. The way the tail of the "g" looks like it is wagging in Wag.com is so smart, and the design of YoYo.com—and the name itself—evoke the feeling of an old-fashioned toy store within the very modern medium of a website.
Most importantly, the appeal of each of these logos convinced me to check out their websites. Now that's the power of good design.
